Milan Fiera

A brief visitor guide for the Fiera, Milan’s big trade exhibition centre

Fiera Milano, or Milan Trade Fair, is a huge purpose-built development for trade fairs, exhibitions and conferences.

Located to the north-west of Milan city centre, the Fiera covers a large area and is accessible through several gates (Porte). The Fiera itself is well-signposted for miles around, but make sure you have details of your event’s address, and the gate you will need. A circular bus runs around the outside of the Fiera – distances are long, but walkable if you have plenty of time or wish to clear your head.

There are plenty of hotels nearby which aim their services at business delegates. However, unless your presence is required at the crack of dawn, there’s no real necessity to stay next door to the Fiera, as Milan’s public transport is efficient. Choosing a hotel close to Metro Line 1 (red) or in the western part of the city centre will make your journey easier.

The best Metro station for the Fiera is called Amendola Fiera (Line 1, red) and is located at the south-west corner of the Fiera complex. The area is also reachable by trams and buses, including tram number 19 which connects the Fiera’s north-east corner, at Largo Domodossola, with the city centre.

During big trade fairs coaches from Malpensa Airport stop on request by the Fiera, and the Malpensa Express train service calls at the nearby Stazione Bullona.
