Ischia Spas and Resorts

Ischia's natural hot springs range in temperature between 20 and 80 degrees centigrade and are principally concentrated around Forio, Casamicciola, Ischia Porto and Maronti (Barano).

For centuries the reputedly therapeutic properties of the thermal waters has seen visitors flocking to the natural springs, and to the thermal baths and resorts created around them. As well as pleasure and relaxation, the mineral waters are said to be good for a huge range of ailments and conditions, from rheumatism to gynaecological complaints. The waters are the most radioactive in Europe.

Many hotels have their own pools filled by hot spring water, and offer on-site treatments. There are also a large number of terme; spas which offer different-temperature pools, saunas, massage centres, and all kinds of health, relaxation and beauty treatments. One of the most attractive of these is the Giardini di Poseidon, whose pools lie alongside the beach of Citara.
