| About the editor I set up Italy Heaven in 2002 when I found that there was no website online where I could find the helpful and practical information about Italy I needed. I was frustrated by the lack of useful advice on destinations and public transport. So I began travelling, researching and writing my own guide to help other travellers plan holidays and journeys in Italy.

Italy Heaven has been online since 2002. This is a privately-run website which offers features, advice and information about travelling in Italy. Our aim is to help our readers to plan their holiday, from choosing a destination to locating bus timetables. Most of our research is carried out in person,
and we provide honest accounts and recommendations based on our own experience. Although the website is funded by various partner companies, we have selected these based on their usefulness to holidaymakers.
Thank you to everyone who has supported the site; your hotel bookings and book purchases
make development of this website possible. Thanks too to family members who've contributed photos, ideas and text.
